Re: What do People think of Americans or the U.S.A?
People, especially children, are ignorant. They are uncomfortable when they see someone different than them and they make themselves feel better by making fun of that other person.

Re: What do People think of Americans or the U.S.A?
Kids can be cruel. They always want to make fun of someone who is different. It keeps them feeling good about themselves.
I'm American too, but kids made fun of me all my life for the way I talked. I sounded like to people that I was from another country, and I went to speech therapy for that. I could pronounce a lot of words right. I think that my stuttering affected my accent. To tell the truth, all the fat and ugly kids who had something wrong with them physically or mentally made fun of me. All of the kids who felt good about themselves got to know me, and the found out that I am a nice person. But one thing that I had learned is that it feels good knowing what those who made fun of you went through. All my family is in the school district almost, and they spilled the guts on all the kids and teachers. It's nice to know that the fat crap that abused me in high school is working at a chicken eatery, instead of in school. Re: What do People think of Americans or the U.S.A?
Yea, I know eh. Kids/Teens/EVEN ADULTS (<-- shockingly horrible)
make fun of people. I mean, if your seriously THAT immature that you can't accept everyone for who they are...ugh. It just breaks my heart to see all the suicides and everybody trying to be so cool and popular. Why? What good do we get out of that. More deaths, more people becoming "emo" (not trying to offend anyone here) just so they can be cool? I personaly know some people who we're good people then tried to be emo and were proud of themselves for slitting their wrists. I don't think they understand why people slit their wrists. Those people made up all kinds of lies to be sympathised for attention. But now, nobody beleives them anymore. When that person actually has a problem..guess what? Nobody is gonna beleive you and that's where you regret all the lies you've told. |

It's sort of a bizarre, twisted case of "The Boy Who Cried Wolf" in a way...

Re: What do People think of Americans or the U.S.A?
Yeah, at my college, I knew a woman that just wanted to be pregnant so badly. She was like 21 and unmarried, making good grades, but was just obsessed about babies.
To tell the truth, the world is crazy about pregnancy and babies. I'm sick of it. There is nothing cute about it, then teenagers want babies, because they think it is cute and see only the good side of parenting, not all the money that has to be spent on the baby and getting up at night. Back to the lady...She got pregnant by some dude, who just wanted some "you know" from her, nothing serious. He didn't want committment or a relationship. She really tricked the dude into getting her pregnant. Well, she told him that she was pregnant, expecting some automatic family and a happy ending. He started tripping on her. Now, she's crying to us about how broke she is, how she don't have time for nothing, how he isn't taking care of their daughter, and boo hoo hoo. My friends and her just ignore her, because we tried telling her to wait, but she just couldn't wait, so now she's dropping out of school and everything. It's a sad situation, but her fault. Re: What do People think of Americans or the U.S.A?
It seems to me that that woman has a psychological disorder and was trying to fill a void with a child... She may need some help.

Re: What do People think of Americans or the U.S.A?
Well, a lot of girls and women have that kind of feeling. Sometimes even boys. It's just a natural feeling. I once had an obsession with having a baby. Not that I ever contemplated fabricating it of course, I'm not that nutty. {rolleyes}
Jeremiah is right in a way though - usually these kinds of aspirations spawn from people who have had issues in their lives particularly with family, whether feeling a lack of love or having a rough upbringing, therefore wanting to care and look after someone as to give them something that they never had, if that make sense. They just want to nurture and feel like they have same reason to stick around, because they need to look after and love someone that depends on them. It is kind of confusing and obviously more complicated than that, but I've looked into this kind of thing before, so, yeah. =P But that woman is an idiot. There is a difference between wanting something and then actually going out and doing it. ![]() |

Re: What do People think of Americans or the U.S.A?
Exactly. I wanted a baby before, I still do. I can't wait and I hope to be a mother, but I am just too young, and I can't even support myself. I am unmarried, and want to be married before having a baby, so I don't have none of that baby daddy drama, dealing with his crap, and a possible crazy-a** girlfriend.
Plus, I want to be happy later on in life. I want to get my college degree, get a good-paying job, or a job I'm happy at, and be able to be able to buy things I want. People don't think about their futures, before making decisions. People think in the here and now. Pokemon and Fire Emblem Forum

http://pokemblem.b1.jcink.com/index.php? |
