How do babies die?
I was playing one of my family who has a bazillion kids, well 10.  Four of the kids are adults, and three have families of their own.  I was looking at the family tree and saw that one of the daughters gave birth, and had twins.  So a day or two later (in sim time) I had the girl's father visit the house to meet the babies.  When I got there I saw the two step-children and one of the twins.  I looked everywhere for the other baby before finally looking back at the family tree and saw the baby had been greyed out as if she had died.

(the baby's father is selected in the tree so the step kids will show too.)

Searching the net the only answer I've found is the baby was taken by Social service.  Just to test that theory out I switched active households and "neglected" the other baby until a social service worker show up.  All the children were then taken away, and none were greyed out after.  The family tree still looks exactly the same after the kids were taken away.

Since it was not the social service taking the little baby away, how do babies die?

EDIT: (because I despise double posts)

I figured out one way they can die.  My sims had a very good relationship with another one of their daughter's kids, and I got a notification that the little baby had died and how.

Re: How do babies die?
I really don't know exactly what happened.  I tried to kill one of the babies in the house I was controlling but the oven absolutely refused to catch on fire when the kid was anywhere near it.  I haven't tried to close a baby in a small room with a fireplace yet.  EDIT: I just tried that and the entire room caught on fire, including the crib the baby was sleeping in.  Everything was destroyed, except the baby.  She just slept there as if nothing was going on and survived the fire.

I was playing this morning and the other twin died from swimming in a pool.  {blink}  These girls just don't know how to take care of babies I suppose.

I swear I haven't done anything for these kids to die.  It's sort of frustrating that the grand-kids keep dying.

I know, it's depressing.  LOL  The little grandson in those pictures just died from drowning in a pool as a child.

What makes it even funnier is none of them even have pools.  XD

Re: How do babies die?
strange this never happened to me,maybe it's happening because you have more than eight sims in one household.

I don't have more than eight sims in one household.  If you look at those pictures I have three or four!  If there is a cheat to allow more than eight, I do not know it.

All the rest of the young children of my sims were living with an adult sibling in another house that I did not control.
