Cats won by a whisker (do you like my lameness? haha).

I, personally, prefer dogs. Occasionally I like to squeeze cute things, and cats don't seem to tolerate that as much as dogs do.

Plus, dogs are loyal. Cats...not so much Smile

Don't get me wrong, they're cute. Just not my favorite.
