RE: Sims 3: Late Night
I'm about 1 week into the game and have played at least a little bit every day since I picked up Late Night. Still encountering new things. Unfortunately, a lot of those new things are bugs.
Early on last night, I had a bug which caused Jun to just freeze up mid-action. No matter what I did, I could not get her off the phone. Keith turned invisible. Since I had just started, I decided to quit and start over. Crisis averted. With a baby on the way, I decided to hire a butler. From what I had read, butlers are great when they work. Apparently some people have had trouble with their butlers disappearing. So far, not a problem for us. Our butler has been great. (Espeically since Jun is a slob.) Jun's pregnancy was a bit rough. She wanted to play piano in the park. I let her and frankly forgot about her while I worked on something or other with Keith. Then I noticed her mood go from green to orange. When I clicked on her, she had passed out in the park due to exposure to the sun. I sent her home immediately. But she had a sun-related moodlet for 2 days. To make matters worse, the paparzi got pictures of her passed out in the park! So she was publically disgraced and lost friends as well. I kept her indoors and let her spend her time off working on skills after that. Soon, it was baby time. And in spite of the drama, I was told that Jun's pregnancy went well and I could pick two traits for the baby (friendly and virtuoso). The baby was a boy. I named him Leon. Then I reset the life span option so Leon would advance up to toddler in a day. We had a big birthday party for Leon which was a big hit thanks to Keith's legendary host reward. But then we had a devil of a time putting Leon to bed. He was dead tired, but everytime we put him in the crib he would wake himself up. Not because of a loud noise. He'd just get up and start plauing and then screaming. This went on for the better part of a Sim day. I have to think it was another bug. I moved the crib, replaced the crib, you name it. Eventually, he went to sleep. But I've never had so much trouble putting a Sim toddler to sleep before. (Real life is another story.) I'd also read that kids have gotten more demanding with Late Night. That seems to be the case. Leon's social meter drops like a rock. Thank goodness that our butler gets him sometimes. Otherwise, Jun and Keith would have to wait on him 24/7 (kind of like my wife and I do with our kids in real life). Anyway, that's domestic life for my Sims so far. |

RE: Sims 3: Late Night
I was reading up on some of the Late Night bugs and something occurred to me. You can correct the "too many vampires and too many celebs" problem by editing your town. Just start kicking them out and replace them with non-vamps and non-celebs.
Also, for vamps you can play them and send them to the science building to be cured. Then move on till you get the desired number of vamps. Although I think I'd rather just boot them then have humanized vamps running around. So far, it doesn't bother me enough to take drastic action. But if vampirism spreads like the flu, I may start evicting vamps from Bridgeport. |
