Older Siblings

I guess you could say I'm an only child, having never lived with any siblings. As far as I know, my dad only has one other child [my half-brother] apart from me, and he's younger than me. I don't see him, like, ever. And knowing my dad, I could have more siblings, but it's irrelevant to me as I'll never know/see them anyway. ;P

I hate when people say that only children get everything they want.
I never got everything I wanted. Ever. I suppose it's good to be an only child when you come from a normal family though, who can get you most of the things you want. xP
And I hated being an only child. I wasn't lonely or anything, I always had friends and family over, constantly, my mum made sure of that. I just always had this desire to have a little sister or brother. I didn't want an older sibling, meh, always a younger one. It made my mum upset that she couldn't afford to give me one, I feel bad for always pestering her about it now. :\

I don't mind being an only child now, however. :]
I'd love a younger sibling to help look after, but like my mum shockingly told me a few weeks ago, I'm closer to being a mother than a sister. xD

I only have one sibling, and that is my sister. She is 6 and a half years older than me [She is 23 in February], but I'd say that we are close. In my opinion, I don't even think we were close until I was about 13 and she was 19, because during her teenage years when she was at school, she used to be out every night or had all her friends up...so I didn't really interact with her as much as I'd liked to. Then when she hit 19, she just seemed to stay in because she was at college, and she had a part-time job aswell, and I suppose perhaps because she had a boyfriend.

She's got her own house now though, with her boyfriend [Yes, 4 years on, she still has the same one XD] so I hardly ever talk to her [again] apart from when she comes up or if she is on MSN.

I blame my mum for having us that far apart! XD My mum's getting all stressed out about turning 40 next year, she needs to wise up!

Haha I think my sister is going to have her boyfriend for a while

But one day I went over to my cousins' house and I hadn't seen them since I was about 5... and so some had grown up.. but they all got on pretty well and it made me a little sad LOL.

My brother and sister were never 'mean' really, but they did the typical older sibling crap; scared the crap out of me, lied to me so I wouldn't tell on them, bribe me to keep secrets, etc., but as I got older I got smarter, and eventually learned to black mail them.  At 6 years old, I was able to black mail my 16 year old sister a number of times, because of all the stuff I would catch her doing when my parents were out at work and she had to watch me.

My sister is still a poor liar, but she lives a day and a half away now xD  And my brother is dead, so not much I can do to black mail him these days XD  Not that I did back then, he and I actually got along rather well.

My older brother went to America aged 21 to see his online girlfriend - got married and never came back.
So in most ways, I AM the older sibling and I bully my sister

I'm so sorry about your brother. That must be horrible. I mean I don't always like my sister. But I would be so sad if she died.
