Honestly I think you guys are being a bit mean toward this kid.  He made a mistake, okay a lot of people do.  But that doesn't give you the right to start talking crap on them like you guys are.

"wow, imagine your last name being balls. poor guy.

That was just ... uncalled for on so many levels.  Very immature and just rude.

Re: Alfie Patten; baby-faced daddy at 13
To be honest i think both of them are getting too much pity.
As someone his age, i know its pretty darn stupid to hook up with some one thats a freshman while your halfwaya through middle school. it makes no sense, and they weren't thinking. Making stupid decisions creates bad consequences.
they could have at least taken some preventative measures.

but i think you're right on many levels, majick;
the kid shouldn't be punished too harshly, having the baby will have its own punishments.

Re: Alfie Patten; baby-faced daddy at 13
You think they're getting too much pity?

I can almost assure you, they're not.  Unless you know them personally, there's no way for you to know just what they're going through each day.  Their faces and names have been revealed, and now the world is out to get them.

They messed up, okay fine.  They probably could have taken better preventative measures, but then how do we know they didn't?  Did the stories specifically say they had unprotected woohoo?  Condoms fail.  I know from personal experience.  They can break, they can (and do) come off.  A bit too graphic, perhaps, for some of the people here on the forums, but still.  These things happen.  It's how my Niece, who is now 11, came into the world.  The one her parents used broke.

At his age, sure, he shouldn't have been having woohoo.  But at 15, it's normal for most girls/boys to start having woohoo.  15 and 16 are the pretty standard ages for when people have woohoo for the first time.  But, it doesn't matter.  Whether they tried to be careful or not, someone is still going to say they were wrong.

I'm glad you understand that, Amber. For their age, that baby is going to be both a blessing and a punishment in many ways.  Especially once that boy realizes just what he's gotten himself in to, IF it is his, after all.  If not, then I will feel relieved for him; and saddened, because he's gotten himself attached to the child already and it won't even be his.  His little heart will be broken; this kind of news would be hard for anyone of any age, imagine how it will be for a 13 year old who WANTS to be able to be responsible and to be a good dad.

I was wondering about that.
If this isn't that kid's baby, that's great news in the long run but he looks like he loves that baby a lot D:

and by the way i guess the age standards are diffferent depending on where you live Tongue

"and by the way i guess the age standards are diffferent depending on where you live"

It's possible.

As I said in a previous post, 13 and 15 are only two years apart.  It just seems like a lot more because most boys at 13 aren't anywhere near mature enough to understand these things.  But, when I was 13 I had a friend who was a boy, who was also 13, and he was already having woohoo with a girl who was also 13 though.  So it's not uncommon.
