I don't have Geography in Year 6. Probaby Year 8, 'cause I think my brother does it, and that's his grade. LOL. But I think it works without double 'had', just use one. Also without the comma. Try that.

9th grade or Freshman

12th grade or Senior



then college:
Freshman
Sophmor
Junior
Senior

then there are people who go for longer

I think the sentence should read-

I HAVE had my breakfast before I went to school.

Well over here the year system works:

Pre-school/Nursery (2 to 4)
Primary School:
Reception (4 to 5)
Year 1 (5 to 6)
Year 2 (6 to 7)
Year 3 (7 to 8 )
Year 4 (8 to 9)
Year 5 (9 to 10)
Year 6 (10 to 11)

Secondary School:
Year 7 (11 to 12)
Year 8 (12 to 13)
Year 9 (13 to 14)
Year 10 (14 to 15)
Year 11 (15 to 16)
Year 12/6th form (optional) (I think it's 16 to 17 but no idea)

Then college for 16-year-old's and over (don't know how college system works that much but pretty sure we don't all go by sophomores, junior etc, but we do call knew students Freshies - like Freshman ).
And finally University.

Technically that would be incorrect depending on how you're relating to the sentence.

'I HAD had my breakfast..' is speaking past-tense, 'I HAVE had my breakfast...' is speaking presently.

Anyway, your teacher is correct Mel, 'I had had my breakfast this morning' is grammatically correct.
