As for height, that has just GOT to be in there. I like to have couples where the guy is taller than the girl, I don't llike them always being the same height. It'd be cute for the girl to have to lean up to kiss him and the boy has to lean down. And some families should have a natural gene to produce small kids whereas some always produce tall.

i think they were also the same height so we could tell what age they were in an easier way.

That works, I understand what you would mean by having certain heights to match age quicker. But that was when we could only play one household. Now all we have to do is click and we can work out exactly how old any Sim of anyhousehold is, so this is another reason we should be having heights in TS3.

If you can edit the width of the Sim you should definitely be able to alter height. 
Though it would be hard to animate a very tall Sim trying to kiss a very short Sim... From what I've seen in screenshots heights aren't going to be added, but I'm fine with this.

I also strongly agree with dancr4life394. The longest hair they had in TS2 base game was that ugly wavy hair that only reached the middle of the back. Hair's supposed to be customizable so we'll have to wait and see.
