Chapter Two


I'm posting this to convince me to keep going. Apparently most of you are also big readers so I'd be thrilled if you gave me some feedback. I always get half way or so through a story and then just leave it to die. So to convince me to continue writing, I'm going to upload each chapter I write up here.

I have no idea for a title yet, so I simply named it 'Lights' randomly from a song I listened to while writing this first chapter. When something pops up, I'll change it.

This is going to be a fantasy genre story. They'll be five main characters, or a quintet if you will. We meet three in this chapter; Adalyn [the main character], Shay and Colden.

I admit the chapter is somewhat dull and an overload of description. The first chapter is a key for setting tones on characters, backgrounds etc etc. So it's half like an introduction chapter with less action than I would like in your average chapter. But you needed to know Addy's background & I like to help you create visions of characters with my descriptions.

I'm no J.K Rowling, so sorry about that. Just try your best to get through it. Constructive criticism is welcomed. Smile

Thanks for actually taking the time to read it and comment, I figured people would be put off because of the length [when you start writing... you don't stop Wink].

It's cool, I hope people do try to read it though. It is fun for me but it does also take effort and time to write, it's nice for people to try and read it when they can. I know it looks long but I'll appreciate it.

I love it!!! I'm so intrigued to know what happens next. You described the details so vividly, I pictured it all in my head. It was just beautiful.

I tried to leave it at a cliffhanger but it's a pretty poor one. Ah well. I promise the next chapter is more eventful. I need to edit it and make a few changes but I'll post ASAP if I get a few more comments. Smile

Ok, well it took me forever to read =] (mostly because I had to crawl under the deck to get a piece of siding for my mum halfway through)

It's really, really Good Cassie. It's so discriptive, I like Shayla. Might I suggest posting the next chapters in the RB?

Shayla [or Shay] is my fave too. She reminds me of Ron sometimes, just less cowardly and more witty. I have a thing for sidekicks, even ones I create myself.

I didn't consider the RB. Mainly because this is the board that gets the most attention, and I felt this story would be lucky to get any reads tbh, so I thought may as well post it in off-topic. I don't think it matters much.
Only thing I would consider bad about posting it here is if someone stole it and claimed it as their own. Hmm.

Let's just see if any else bothers to read this chapter in here, if they do, I'll post the next chapter in the RB as long as you don't all forget to read Chapter Two. =P Smile
