Popular Traits - yummybunny - 31-12-2008 11:53 PM Which traits of the ones remaining would you use the most? Which traits would you use a little, not that often, or not at all? Here is the list of traits: http://forums.electronicarts.co.uk/sims-3/372978-new-article-new-pics.html Here are the top ones I would use: Ambitious, Athletic (Wow! They put that back in! That sure wasn't on Snooty's list, so I thought it was long taken out), Charismatic, Daredevil, Family Orientated, Flirty (There are more I would use, but these are my favorite.) Here are the ones I would use the least of: Klepto, Evil, Loser, Technophobe (like are they gonna be stupid at gadgets or are they afraid of technology...I hope it isn't the second), Unlucky. ***I don't want chaos and people all in my house stealing and robbing my kids and junk. I really wouldn't enjoy the game, then if you marry an unlucky sim...how unlucky is unlucky? I wouldn't want my unlucky spouse to die, or something happening to me or my kids, just because my spouse is unlucky. You know what I mean? All the other unlisted traits would be used either a lot of mediumly. ___________________________________________________________________ And how effective are these traits. Like would they have a TS2 personality, but they will act off these traits in certain situations or sometimes? Or would they act off these five traits all the time? You know how real people are, a lot of the times, we act like each other...just to be polite, or just because there isn't a situation, but we act differently at other times or in certain situations. Re: Popular Traits - The Adam Diamond - 01-01-2009 02:39 AM Good thinking there. I was always weary of kleptomaniac. It would be funnyat first, but I hope the klepto's don't reproduce and have lots of children with that inherited trait! Re: Popular Traits - The Adam Diamond - 01-01-2009 09:24 PM Well, I would definitely use evil and possibly loser, but I would stay away from kleptomaniac if i were you. Unless you like robberies. and if technophobe means a fear of technology, I would stay away from that one aswell. unless you don't want technology in your hood. ![]() Although, having those traits could be fun.
Re: Popular Traits - sims3luva22 - 01-01-2009 09:34 PM I haven't gotten to look over the new traits list and I think ill wait and be surprised. I did just ignore certain aspirations in ts2 like grilled cheese, and fortune etc and stuck with romance, family, and knowledge. Now, I'm ready to try new things. I found that even the meanest sim had a soft spot once a sim got to know and date them. I don't plan on playing every last trait but I will be experiencing them and creating sims who I dub outcasts. Its one thing to have a great family and great sims but without the villains it would get boring for me. I want to make Mr. Burns or some creepy neighbor who never comes out of his house until after dark where he works as a criminal and secretly steals my sims wife's lawn gnomes.
Re: Popular Traits - yummybunny - 01-01-2009 09:37 PM Yeah, I probably won't make any kleptos. Â The game is gonna generate people anyways, and some of them are gonna be klepto. Â I hope they aren't able to just walk in our houses and steal things, like in The Heist Video...she just walked in people's houses. Â That would totally suck, you work hard for your crap so someone can steal it. Â I wonder what happens if someone was caught stealing your toddler's lollypop. Â The big, bad daddy of my toddler will mess someone up. Â The momma would even do that. I am also staying away from technophone and klepto. Â Those are on the low to none scale for me. Then evil and unlucky, I will use little of. Â I don't want evil sims running around and stuff. EDIT: That would be totally cool, creating Mr. Burns and stuff. And yeah, I think that even the hardest of sims would have a soft spot too, unless they have all negative traits. Re: Popular Traits - The Adam Diamond - 01-01-2009 09:37 PM I think TS3 will be different because, with the traits you will NEVER get a "perfect" sim like you could in Ts1 and Ts2. Re: Popular Traits - sims3luva22 - 01-01-2009 09:53 PM Well I thought about that too, then again I'm used to installing a fire alarm and burglar alarm right away. Lesson learned! Even though a majority of us know our way around a sims game, I'm glad that this new installment will have us renewed and excited about game play. I am positive every little intricate detail will be new to us all. Even small things like our sims eating (maybe they can really choke) or watching tv, sleeping etc. And now that we have more choices with getting to work - if our sims are late, then its all on them. Its gonna be so cool watching them actually have to plan out their day. They have to get up, shower, eat, get dressed, brush their teeth and then commute. That's if u choose to walk or ride their bikes. That could take 2 hours. Or maybe your sim is an early riser and looks forwards to stopping by the cafe for a croissant or the gym before clocking in. Sigh, this is gonna be fun. We can actually go into detail about how their day went instead of creating a make believe story. Re: Popular Traits - yummybunny - 01-01-2009 11:15 PM I am getting sick of those no-personality, innocent, perfect sims. (I love the game, but the personalities in TS2 is dull...no offense to some people that will defend TS2) Reminds me of those shows from the 50's like Leave It To Beaver. Where everyone is perfect, the kids don't go against their parents, everyone is happy, everyone agrees with each other, etc. Re: Popular Traits - Scene23 - 01-01-2009 11:41 PM I would probably will select a couple of sims to have the klepto trait, just to add some drama to it. I wonder if it would be random??? for lets say one of your sims is apart of a middle class family or living very poor - but they are friends with the mayor's son, who is wealthy of course. The friend goes to the estate to play with the mayor's son and decides to sneak into the mayor's bedroom and steals one of their jewels, and of course the sims have strong instinctive memories in this game, so he will get into the habit to keep on coming back to the house to steal some more. Unless now the Sims can finally lock their doors from intruders...I only hope so. If so I do question if that will affect his friendship with the son, like the son knows that he has stolen from his family, and decides on his own to stop talking to him or the mayor forbids the son to stop talking too him altogether. That would interesting to see that happen if EA had instrumented that into the game. (I doubt it) Lets just hope its not a random thing wherever they go they have to steal...because that would get annoying after a while, just like in the Sims 2 I would get so ticked off, when you are trying to have some sims conversate with one another, here comes two sims that hate each other like no tommorrow...and they start a brawl between each other and ruins the whole conversations because all the sims would focus their attention to the fight. If they are living together, they will keep on fighting after fight...that really took the fun away for me. But I'm going to try and maintain a balance for all my characters, Allow them to have a variety of traits so it could add more fun to the game play. Unless you want to create a criminal family, sort of like the sopranos, or something and have each sim in the family have the most cruelist and devious traits..then you would see them steal from everyone. {lol} {lol} I agree SuggieGlider about how the Sims 2 sims were dull...cause they were.. {lol} {lol}. Another thing I couldnt understand about that game, is how when they hate each other, its easier and less challenging to make them forgive one another...hopefully in the Sims 3, it will be extremley challenging in that department...so if they hate each other or have a major falling out, it will be very hard for the two simmies to patch things up. |
