Re: »»¦ Ãear Ĵournal: The life of a Spare ¦«« - phoebe91 - 25-01-2009 05:40 AM Aw, it is so neat! I can't wait to see who the father is! Re: »»¦ Ãear Ĵournal: The life of a Spare ¦«« - yummybunny - 25-01-2009 06:13 AM Chris is a real cutie. I probably would almost do the same thing...marry the man on impulse. Then we would had had a baby right away. {lol} There is like no cuties where I live...everyone else sees them, but not me...or the cute ones are never attracted to me...always the ignorant and ugly ones. Your sims are so unique looking, like they have this certain "beautifulness" to them. (I know that's not a word) But they look really good, like no one else's sims in this forum looks like them. And you have really nice environments. (My housing and outside environments look like crap. You can see by my pictures. I decorate my house, but the walls get in my way, so the whole decoration scheme don't show...but yours look beaut regardless.) But in real life, I suck at decoration. {lol} Re: »»¦ Ãear Ĵournal: The life of a Spare ¦«« - ZePrincess - 25-01-2009 12:51 PM I love this story! Gavin's so cute! ^_^ Re: »»¦ Ãear Ĵournal: The life of a Spare ¦«« - Majick - 25-01-2009 07:56 PM I almost have enough for a 3rd update! I might try to get it out today for the fun of it. If not today, then definately wednesday But, one can hope!
Re: »»¦ Ãear Ĵournal: The life of a Spare ¦«« - Majick - 27-01-2009 01:27 AM ![]() Dear Journal, So, the date Friday night didn't happen. We had to push it to Saturday, because Chris got the job at the Children's Hospital, and they wanted him to do his orientation class on Friday, from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m.! I thought for sure he was joking, but it turns out he wasn't. They were assigning him his floors, his rooms, introducing him to the children and showing him some of the basic ropes. They also said it would be good for him to have an idea of what his hours at the hospital will be like. But, the date happened. Many dates happened, in fact. And we decided to take it slow, now that we knew for sure that ... I could indeed marry this wonderful man! ![]() ![]() We dated for about 6 months, and then it came. The results to the Paternity test. I invited Chris over, and he hugged me so tightly. It was as though he were afraid I was going to run away! ![]() Once inside, Chris sat on my right, and Nathan on my left. The results ... devisated Chris. "Nathan ... you're Gavin's father." Nathan gave a weak smile, and nodded. "I knew I would be ... I just ... could tell." He didn't stay long, he phoned me later to tell me that he knew Chris loved me, and that it would be best if we had some time alone. Nathan is such a gentle man, I hope Gavin can grow up to be like that. ![]() I felt bad for Chris, he actually seemed so sad that he wasn't Gavin's father, he stood up and moved over to the window, and I followed. "Maybe someday." He said. "Maybe ..." I replied. He took my hands, and smiled. "You're a wonderful mother, Gabrielle. And I would have loved to been Gavin's father, you know that." I ... wanted to cry. It sounded as though he was breaking up with me! "Chris ..." "I meant what I said, sweety." He smiled. "I want to marry you, and I want to be in yours and Gavin's lives." ![]() He then took me out front, and got down on one knee in front of everyone, and proposed! Naturally I accepted. ![]() ![]() We held a very small yet simple ceremony right there about 3 days later. Everyone gathered around and Derek, my landlord, took this picture for us. I've made a copy, and that's what I'm pasting into your pages below. ![]() It's weird, not just being a mother, but being a wife. Gavin is getting so big, and I decided it's time to start acting the role of a wife and mother. Chris thinks I would enjoy being a Doctor too, like him. I love being a dancer, though! But, the hours of practice and the hours of performing ... even the days I have to spend away when on tour ... it's a lot. It's true that Chris spends many hours at work, and sometimes he has to be called in late in the evening on his nights off, but his hours are still more stable than mine. He can even work from ohome some days, which is great for when I'm off on tour. ![]() ![]() One night over dinner, Chris approached me with the idea. He said the Children's Hospital was going to have an opening soon, because one of the rookies was being transferred over to Belladonna Cove Hopistal. I was furious! Chris had worked so hard, and for so many hours. And someone else was being given this wonderful promotion?! I fumed, and he laughed. "Sweety, I'm that rookie!" I ... felt like an idiot. I just laughed at myself. "I have talked to my manager, and they said they'd be happy to take you in, and it's been arranged that I can take off the day of your orientation, so that we don't need to hire a sitter." ![]() It was a big decision, but ultimately, I took it. I was going to be a Doctor, too. Just like my adoring, hard-working sweet husband. ![]() My first night of work was exhausting! But it was nice to come home to a homecooked meal, and a sleeping baby. I was so angry, though. The day was long, and tiring. And I didn't get the floor Chris has, I had been assigned another one. And there was this one little girl who was simply terrible! "Ah, Abigail. Yeah, I had to take that floor one night when one of my co-workers fell ill. She's snotty, but if you can learn to read her, and know what she wants, she's actually pretty nice." I couldn't see that happening, but ... I'll give it a try. ![]() We often times found ourselves washing together. I washing Gavin, and Chris washing the dishes. Our hours were weird, but the nanny was wonderful. Chris was working less hours than before, surprisingly enough. A lot of his work he could do right from home, and he seemed thrilled. ![]() It had been a while since Nathan had any time to come visit. But it was okay, because that night was Gavin's 3rd birthday. Chris greeted Nathan first, as I came from the dining room. "Nathan! I'm so glad you could make it tonight. How is Mary, and Isaiah?" "They're doing great, Chris. They're at her mother's tonight, I had to work late, so I couldn't make it." "That's okay, we're glad to have you." Chris was being so wonderful. He'd been such a big help with Gavin, he took care of his potty training, he said that Gavin needed to learn young that it was okay to be around other guys, but that he shouldn't get the impression men and women should use the restroom together. I guess that makes sense. ![]() ![]() While Chris was studying for a procedure he had to perform in a few days, I took the time in the evenings to help Gavin with his balance; he could walk, but there were some problems with his knees not properly developing. But with the proper help and care he'll be fine. ![]() One morning the phone wrang, it was Isaiah. He wanted to spend the day with his little brother, which I thought was so sweet. I'm sure Nathan had something to do with this, since Isaiah had never expressed any kind of brotherly love toward Gavin until now. Of course, it could also be that Gavin is finally old enough to spend time with outside, too. ![]() Gavin and Isaiah hit it off well. As Mary and I stood back and watched, Isaiah got more and more attached, he was smiling, and kissing his brother repeatedly on the cheek. Saying things like "I'll protect you, and show you all kinds of cool things!" I just hope the mud puddle conversation was a joke ... ![]() Later that day, I introduced Gavin to the rocker llamma. He had a blast on that thing! I'd never seen him giggle and guffaw like that in my life! Being a parent is a beautiful thing, and Gavin is growing up so fast. I began thinking about ... just maybe ... having another child. ![]() I didn't approach Chris right away about my wanting another child. Gavin still had plenty of time as a small child. But, shortly after Gavin's 7th birthday, I decided it was time. I found Chris in bed relaxing, and I joined him. "Hey sweety, everything okay?" "Yeah, why?" "You just look like the weight of the world is on your shoulders." I chuckled. "No ... but I do have something pretty heavy that I want to ask you." "If it's 'will you marry me', I'm afraid you're too late." He grinned, and I found myself laughing. "No, no silly. Chris ..." "Gabrielle?" "Can we have a baby?" He looked ... surprised. But he smiled. He scooted closer, and snuggled with me. "Have you been reading my diary?" "What? You have a diary?" He laughed. "No, I was joking! But I've been debating asking you about a baby too." I was so relieved! Chris was ready to expand our family, too. I was excited. After talking about it for several nights ... we set to work. ![]() Gavin is almost 7 now, and we just got the results back from the bloodwork; we're pregnant! Only about a month or so, but soon there will be another member to our family. I told Gavin, and he was absolutely thrilled! But, then of course that brought the dreaded "Where do babies come from?" question and answer session. He's a smart boy, and he didn't buy the story about the stork one bit. I found him that night reading a copy of "Where Babies Come From", written by one of the previous Summerstone members. I'd forgotten we had a copy of that! ![]() |
