I was bored so I bred my black and a pink and got a black and a pink, but I kept the black.

Neat!  Good luck with that, too!

Apparently, there USED to be a way to tell them apart while they were just eggs, but they disabled that to help discourage abandoning eggs when they weren't alts, so now that's why you have to wait until they hatch before you know.
