Sorry for the triple post, just found something on DBC others might find interesting.

Originally, we all thought that the Dorsal Dragons had different colors for the genders; Purple for the females and Red for the males.  However, this is not accurate!  Behold:

So, it doesn't matter after all.  Just seems the purple have a higher chance of being female, but won't necessarily be female.

Like I said, I think the purple ones are more likely to be female, but they aren't always going to be female like we first assumed.  My purple Dorsal was a female too.
