From another post I made:

I always though it would be good to have:

Baby --> Toddler --> Young child (3-5) --> Older child (6-9) --> Preteen (10-12) --> Young Teen (13-15) --> Older Teen (16-19) --> Young Adult (20-25) --> Adult (25-40) --> Mature Adult (40-55) --> Elder (55+)

The numbers inside the paranthesis refer to the age in "human years". Each life-stage would also be a little longer and more proportionally correct. It doesn't make sense for 16+ teens to have twice as much time as 6+ children. I set up a chart that went something like this:

Baby: 3 days
Toddler: 4 days
Young Child: 4 days
Older Child: 6 days
Preteen: 5 days
Young Teen: 5 days
Older Teen: 8 days (because everyone thinks teens are more fun to play)
Young Adult: Time it takes to graduate college, or about 10 days (I was a bit fuzzy here, but I always thought sims who didn't want to go to college should get to be Young Adults anyway)
Adult: 25 days
Mature Adult: 20 days (because it doesn't need to be 100% realistic)

This system adds up pretty well, with amount of years in proportion to amount of days, how long it takes to raise a kid, etc.

also, are you going ot have to by the extenation for seasons and collages and stuff

i think that they r doing it gradually. but i hope:

infant, baby, toddler, pretween, tween, preteen, teen, young adult, adult, middle-aged, elder, matron/patron.

i know that this is a long life but i think that its good. right?

You guys stop talking about preteen and middle age!!!Theres no more life stages it's gradual aging.

You have no idea how happy that would make me!  ;D But how do you know for sure that it's gradual aging? It would make sense considering the Adults age into Elders gradually though. What would be the point in having that, and not bothering with the rest of the age groups?  ???
[/quote]They said theres gradual aging in all the articles. They said instead of life stages theres gradual aging and you'll notice as they get older they age a little. Now for gradual aging that would mean ages but Im not sure how there going to do it but they are having gradual aging. And you know what would be cool if when your in CAS and you have a little meter to select the age and as you go up they turn older and as you go down they get younger would'nt that rock.

Omg that would be amazing! I can kind of just picture it in my head... ;D And I don't remember reading about gradual aging? Not saying you're lying, I do have a bad memory. Well let's just hope I guess. It really would be great! But I'd be happy with some fresh new lifestages added too, if gradual aging wasn't posible.

What is gradual aging ?

Re: Does anyone Know the Ages of sims3 - Cassie - 26-03-2008 06:21 PM

Gradual aging is where Sims age only ever-so-slightly day-by-day rather than just spinning around and growing severel feet and being in a whole new Lifestage. This way it is much more realistic. They'll age and grow like we do if they put gradual aging in the game. But there'd still obviously be lifestages, too.Wink
