i found this on yahoo!:

The Sims 3, Electronic Arts' next big entry in the blockbuster real-life simulation franchise, has been delayed for the PC. Originally scheduled to be released at the end of this month, the game will now ship on June 2nd, 2009.

According to Russell Arons, Vice President of Marketing at EA, "The June launch combined with the break-through game the team is building gives us the perfect runway to create awareness for The Sims 3. [It] will be the original IP summer blockbuster of 2009 as we build off the success of the best-selling PC franchise of all time to create awareness with both loyal Sims fans and new players."

it's basically word-for-word, they just changed the dates. so yeah it's fake.

Good detective work! Wink

The date isn't changed; it's just a bit of tomfoolery. Sit back, relax, and keep counting down...

oh yeah. i meant some prankster changed the dates lol

found more news it is not good

Electronic Arts reported the results of its recently concluded fourth quarter on Tuesday as rumors fluttered concerning a possible buyout by Apple. EA also discussed the progress of its digital-delivery efforts, which company executives say are entering a new phase.

The Apple-buy rumor was going around this morning about Twitter as well, and didn't merit discussion on the hour-long earnings call. But there is good news for Mac and iPhone users, who for the first time will have versions of the newest edition of The Sims available to them on the first day of sale for the hotly anticipated title: The Sims 3 will launch on December 22 just in time for the holiday season, and the "Let There Be Sims" ad campaign should start flooding your consciousness in a few months.

When asked why another delay, EA stated it was to polish the best selling franchise of all time.

its not true, i went to the EA press site and on top of the article it says: "The Sims 3 to Ship on June 2"
so really there is no need to worry.

Im tired of seeing all these delay rumors going around again. Its very annoying. Why would they change the date when they have had HUGE ads all over the place saying june 2? The team even has a special countdown clock in their offices... and on twitter and facebook, they countdown most of the time, saying 28 days left, etc.

I wish people would stop making these things up in order to create chaos in the sims community. (Im not saying kp313 made it up, if I confused anyone.)

There has been talk of an Apple buyout, but this information is sketchy at best and it is unlikely there is any truth to it.

And the December delay is just not true.

I've been searching the web, I have not found a single thing to confirm the December date.  Where did you find that?  It's not real.
