It looks like it will be easier.
Building basements and changing roof angles in sims 2 were not easy for everybody. and roofslopeangle (sims 2) is a cheat, so a slider that changes the slope will be great.
I loved building houses in sims2, and I look forward to that aspect of Sims 3.
