I think the benes and applaud system is basically the same so I'm not bothered. The only difference is you can see how many times the person has been applauded by looking at their profile or comments they made on a thread.

Yeah, they are pretty similar in how they work. It's the names that I thought would be nice to keep around if possible, lol.

I am ok with applaud and smite. In my opinion, even on Sims 2 BBS some people can flag some others that did not really deserve it. So I don't see anything different happening with the smite option. It might get misused like the flagging, but what can you do?
