Re: Unlimited Karma - bambigoddess - 15-04-2008 01:06 PM The only problem I have with that is that it may cause conflict. I mean, I know how much others would like to know who adjusted their karma and why - heck, if I wasn't a mod I would surely be itching to know. But what happens when someone gets upset? Is there any way they could just see the reason and not who did it? Probably not...well, maybe the members could just PM an Admin or a Mod if they want to know why their karma's changed. Just my thoughts, really...no need to pay any mind to them...
Re: Unlimited Karma - matt - 15-04-2008 02:14 PM I agree, that's the reason why it's not available for everyone to view, so people can't get upset. I think it's best this way, if people want to know 'why' they got a 'noway', then they can PM an admin/mod, but it's probably best off not saying 'who' gave the noway. Re: Unlimited Karma - bambigoddess - 15-04-2008 02:21 PM I absolutely agree. I must say, I like this mod quite a bit.
Re: Unlimited Karma - DaBoogadie - 15-04-2008 04:36 PM You can kiss a llama on the lips, but you can't change his/her karma. Personally, I think that the whole karma thing is silly and click-ish. But then again, I'm old. Re: Unlimited Karma - ChalyssaMuch - 15-04-2008 04:36 PM I kinda like this way giving a reason makes me feel all warm and nice..lol Re: Unlimited Karma - bambigoddess - 15-04-2008 04:39 PM Haha, lovely. I agree, I like that we have to have a reason now.
Re: Unlimited Karma - Cassie - 15-04-2008 05:47 PM I like it this way round, but I think all members should be able to see why their Karma has been given and removed, so they know what they're doing right and wrong, I don't think just admins and mods should have those privalages. I've been wanting reasons for giving and taking Karma ever since I joined, and I was very excited to see that we could, but now I know I can't, and I'm quite upset about that. :-\ However, as for knowing who took and gave the Karma, obviously I'm terribly jealous you guys know and I don't, but I can deal with that fine, I can understand why you wouldn't be too sure with that idea.
Re: Unlimited Karma - matt - 15-04-2008 06:10 PM Cassie, I understand what you're saying, and if it were possible to let you guys know the reasons for your karma points, without you being able to see who gave you the karma, I would do that in an instant. Unfortunately, it's not possible at the moment but I will keep an eye out for mods that allows this functionality in the future. Re: Unlimited Karma - ChalyssaMuch - 15-04-2008 07:06 PM Yeah i'd kinda like to know too if someone takes it away... isnt there some way around it? Sorry if I sounded a bit whiny in my last post, I just felt I needed to say that because I was indeed looking forward to being able to know the reasons for taking Karma, so I do apologise if I sounded grumpy or anything, it wasn't my intention, but I just read it through and I felt as though it sounded I was being that way, so I just thought I'd say. ![]() Buy yes, anyway, thank you for understanding, I appreciate entirely that you can see what I'm saying, it's really unfortunate you can't do anything about that. As Alyssa said, are you absolutely positive there's no way around this? If not, that's fine, I'm sure I'll move on eventually.
